Today this model is dying I guess, its hard to survive as a record company. Can't say that I'm sorry for the record labels either, because they've had their years, taking more cash then they ever deserved. One could only say that it may be right, it may be a cleansing that we needed to do. To find more direct models that work for the striving artist.
The "cake" is getting smaller, people pay less for music these days, so record companies has to be removed from the equation, and the artist should get that bigger piece of cake.
Ola contacted me about vocals for another track last week, and it went rather fast. The melodies came right away and I think I finished the whole track in like 2-3 hours. Ola plays all instruments and has produced the track.
Have a listen:
Lyrics:
Coming Home
You have a way about you, it's hard to let you go I miss you when you're gone, I'm all alone It's hard to breathe without you, I'm barely hanging on It's hard to be strong, Where I don't belong
How can I make things right, when we don't talk anymore I tried so many times, I giving up
Take me to your heavens With a smile With a touch Give me everything you got
When I'm coming home
I'm sorry That we lost our step again Down that same old road again, that we know too well, baby But I can't help myself, I'm haunted by your smile I loved what we once had, don't let go
I can't believe that we walk from this again I guess we can't pretend anymore
Take me to your heavens With a smile With a touch Give me everything you got
Hello, its been a while. My main focus right now is to finish the point zero album, but in doing that I've gotten some request from friends to do some vocals and stuff like that, which is always fun of course.
So here we go, 4 new releases!
1. First we have a friend of mine thats called Ola, he wrote a maiden-ish song, which I did wrote lyrics for and created and sang the vocal melodies, the song is called Apathetic, you can listen to it here:
2. I just got to know that Stefan Wernborg has released his album on spotify and itunes. He asked me to "growl" on the end of a song on that album in the end of last year, so I did and it was fun, really like the tune, its epic. You can listen to "Then What" here:
3. Last month I did a guitar solo for my friend Andreas Kornstad, the song is called Spiked, and its in a kind of Rammstein-esque style. Here's the link for that song:
4. Finally, but maybe the biggest news. The metal band that I sang for last year (cleans and growls), have now released their 5 song EP/Demo, the band is now called 'Disrupted I'.
The songs:
Flickering us
Fractals
Your Ember
Heal Me
Disagree
That's all for now. Next time it will probably be point zero-related :) ...now.. coffee and mixing continued..
My name is Fredrik Lindberg and I'm a musician/songwriter/producer... hence 'Lindberg + music'. Here i'll ramble on about my musical nonsense and findings. Enjoy you must! ;)
